About addons?

Hey man, I'm starting to get my way around Hubzilla and I'm particularly interested for now about how addons/apps are managed.

My background is in embedded software and micro controllers, the logic used by experienced web developers is QUITE distant from my reality.
Maybe someone could volunteer to point me in the right direction?

For instance, I don't seam to find a guide on how to build an addon from scratch or even a empty one to use as guideline.

There is the skeleton addon which resembles a kind of hello world example...

Thanks, comparing it to a fully functional one should be enough to make sense of things.

And if I create a new directory in /addon it should appear in the admin page as available, right?
