Hi, new here, seriously impressed with this incredible concept you guys have built so far. Not sure of the protocol for submitting little issues and questions tell me if there's a preferred better way but I did have a user enter duplicate entries for a channel name, I thought this probably should be unique.

I tried to submit this from an album but I wasn't given my album list under "Choose an Album" so I've submitted this from an external url.

That's very rare. We have seen occasional race conditions because there is a finite amount of time between checking for the existence of something and then allowing it to be created. So sometimes a double-click will duplicate something but the code does try to prevent it. In this case please remove one as it probably will cause issues.

You're now the third person to report using the "insert photo from albums" button and not grasp the meaning of the "attach" paper clip button which performs the upload task directly and is how most software performs this task. You can also drag drop a photo right onto the post. I understand it is probably because you're thinking photo and see a photo icon, but if you can think of a way to make the attach button more obvious in this case I'm open to suggestions.

Incidentally the attach button attaches any kind of file. Internally we decide what it is and provide the relevant markup code. The same goes for the "insert link" (chain link) button next to it. We try our best to figure out what kind of link it is and how best to present it.

There's no attach button, just a link button so far as I can establish. Not sure why this came up in German, is that this channel's default? No prob.

Ah I see.

While you may have permission to post and comment on other channel pages, you rarely have permission to upload into *their* file spaces. If you have permission to see their photos you also have permission to include those photos in posts. So this may seem confusing but it is working as designed. On your own channel page you should have the ability to attach files.

What you may be missing here is that you can also post to forums from your own channel page or network page by using the group/forum mention tag - !forumname . You only rarely should need to visit the forum page directly.

Ah right yep makes sense. Good info about the !, Very useful thanks Mike. Probably on support pages it would make sense for people to attach files in for those who do visit, so I'll make sure I do that on my own support page too.
