Fixes:

Do not count likes in forum notifications if likes notifications are disabled

Fix typo in spanish translation which broke javascript

Improve linkinfo charset handling and image detection

Fix wrong image resize for some external images

Move blueimp upload lib to composer and update to version 9.25

Remove primary/clone counts from admin summary until we have a mechanism to update the fixed counts

Fix html2markdown() and re-enable previously failing tests

Improve look of oembed content for Hubzilla links

Fix forum notifications count not correct

Fix gallery addon which broke mod apps in some situations

Hubzilla 3.8 Released!
As you can see from the changelog, Hubzilla has gone through a very busy development cycle. To simplify the settings and improve the general UX, we have re-organised the entire apps and settings infrastructure.
Some features from the "Additional Features" section have been transformed to stand-alone apps and will need to be installed by the channel owner. Other features have been moved to the per app settings pages which are now easily accessible from the navigation bar or the app store.
Some addons have already been ported to the new apps infrastructure. This work is ongoing and will be completed during the next development cycle.

Other notable changes:

Remove tech-levels

Markdown table support

New addon (channelreputation) which provides a reputation system for community channels

Implement a subscriptions submodule for the cart addon

New addon (hsse) that implements a WYSIWYG editor

Experimental queue worker improvements (off by default)

Many under the hood improvements and bugfixes

As always, a big THANK YOU! to the translators and everybody who is helping to improve Hubzilla.

Howto upgrade:
Due to some profound changes to the addons it is necessary to follow this update procedure:

util/safemode on this will disable all enabled addons

util/udall the actual update which executes git pull for core and addon repos

util/safemode off this enables the previously disabled addons again

Install the upgrade info addon (optional) - this will show some info about the upgrade to your community members

In case you attended the RC testing, remember to git checkout master your core, addon and widget repositories prior to the upgrade.

During the next development cycle we will start implementing the new version of the zot protocol (zot6) which already powers Hubzillas social network oriented sibling Osada.

Preview: Changes in the upcoming new Hubzilla 3.8

Changes in the upcoming Hubzilla 3.8 release
As you have probably already noticed, there were some dramatic changes to the settings and app infrastructure in the 3.7 development cycle.

What changed?

We left behind the central settings page a.k.a Settings > Additional Features in favor of per app settings pages. Basically every app with settings has an easy accessible (cog icon next to the app name in the panel) settings page.

Feature settings for the post editor are accessible via the cog icon in the editor. Feature settings for post/comment interactions (star posts, community tagging, emoji reactions, dislike button) are accessible via the item dropdown menu (bottom right) of each post/comment > Conversation Tools.

Some features have been transformed into stand-alone apps. Privacy Groups, Wiki, Notes come to my mind. There are many others though. If you had one of the transformed features enabled, you will now need to install its app equivalent. E.G. you will need to install the Privacy Groups App to be able to manage your privacy groups.

Addons:

Some addons have already been ported to the new app infrastructure (all the federation protocols, n_s_f_w, startpage, etc). The remaining will be ported in the next release cycle.
Basically here applies the same as explained above for the core apps. If you had an addon enabled in the addon settings, you will need to install its equivalent app (diaspora app, n_s_f_w app, etc).

Summary of needed actions for the channel owner:

If you had features/addons enabled that have been "appified" you will need to install the equivalent apps for the channel.

Click "Add Apps" from the navbar hamburger menu to see an overview of your installed apps

To install a new app, select "Available Apps" from the left-aside Apps Collections menu

Click the green install button for each app you want to install
